Technical Illustration
Another illustrator—more talented than I—named Bruce Morser developed this look back in the 80s. The detail and feel appealed to me so I shamelessly copied him and now have a fair library of this style of drawing. And they really are “drawings” in that they‘re drawn with colored pencil. The idea is to look like a blueprint, as though the product or idea needs a “technical” visual explanation.
